Lithuania continues to provide support to Ukraine

Ukraine and Lithuania welcome cooperation between the countries and are open to further cooperation.

The press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported this on the results of a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar with Seimas Ombudsman of the Republic of Lithuania Augustinas Normantas.

“Vasyl Bodnar and Augustinas Normantas commended the fruitful cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania. They noted historic intergovernmental ties, joint efforts in countering external threats, exchange of experience, support and mutual assistance. The parties also emphasized openness and readiness for further cooperation,” the statement reads.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties also discussed urgent issues of Ukrainian-Lithuanian relations in the field of human rights protection.

The Lithuanian representative noted positive achievements in the project implementation, in particular, in drafting amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights”, which involved Lithuanian experts.
