Lithuania’s first international traditional martial arts championships take place in Vilnius

VILNIUS – The Lithuanian International Traditional Martial Arts Championships 2017 kicked off at the Lithuania Exhibition and Congress Center in Vilnius on Saturday.

Over 150 participants are competing in full contact fights, easy contact fights, free technique, traditional martial arts forms demonstrations and Tuishou wrestling competitions.

According to Thomas Lapinskas, president of the Lithuanian Wusu Federation, this is the first time Lithuania has staged an international traditional martial arts championship, aiming to promote friendly competition and martial arts spirit and preserve the integrity of traditional martial arts.

The two-days competition is organized by the Vilnius municipal government as well as Lithuanian Wushu Federation, Shaolin.lt, Lithuania Aikido Aikikiai Federation, and Lithuania Nhat Nam Federation.
