CLEVELAND – After arriving in Cleveland on Saturday for a Sunday game against LeBron James and the Cavaliers, New York Knicks member and Lithuanian National Basketball Team star Mindaugas Kuzminskas made a surprise appearance at the annual North American Lithuanian Sports Association conference being held at Cleveland’s Lithuanian Club.
Kuzminskas met with conference attendees, who are representatives of various Lithuanian sports clubs across the USA and Canada.
After the conference, Kuzminskas was treated to “cepelinai”, a meat-filled potato dumpling that’s Lithuania’s national dish. This is the first time since being in the NBA that Kuzminskas ate “cepelinai” in the USA. He liked them so much, he invited the Lithuanian Club’s chef Edita Kuzaitiene, along with club president Ruta Degutis, to be his personal guests at Sundays game against the Cavs.
Once word started spreading on social media that Kuzminskas was at the Lithuanian Club, many Cleveland Lithuanians started showing up at the club to meet him.
Kuzminskas ended-up spending several hours at the club, taking selfies with fans & signing autographs.
