Rowing your kayak down the river Neris is a great way to spend a summer’s day. The river Neris is the biggest river in Vilnius. It flows throughout the very heart of Vilnius and its banks divide the city into two parts: the old one and the modern one. The river is wide and deep but not too curvy and not too swift, thus the rowing is more a way to chill out than a sport. If you are a lazy rower, you will make the distance in 5 hours. If you work hard, you can make it in 1 hour and a half.
If you want a challenge, you can choose kayaking down the river Vilnelė. Vilnelė is a small river, but it is very curvy, really swift and even rocky, making the rowing more difficult and the whole trip more adventurous.
Either way, it is a perfect attraction, which gives you a different and unusual sense of Vilnius.
