(VILNIUS) – Lithuania is a reliable friend and ally of the United States, and America remains firmly engaged with NATO and cooperation with Lithuania in defense, U.S. President Donald Trump has said.

Transatlantic relations remain vitally important, Trump said in his letter to Lithuania’s President Dalia Grybauskaite, according to a statement released Friday by the Lithuanian presidency.

Trump said he highly valued Lithuania’s commitment to allocate 2 percent of GDP for defense funding as of 2018.

Lithuania’s support while strengthening NATO role in the fight against terrorism illustrates how important is sharing of responsibility among allies, Trump said in his letter.

Trump also praised Lithuania for its input into security operation in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the statement.

Trump is capricious. His mind changes every day. The majority of Americans don’t trust him. Why should Lithuania trust him? WSatch your back, Lithuania.

Why is it whenever I see Trump write letters to anyone, I can feel the hackles rise on my neck..He can not bully Lithuania as he thinks he can others. I am a child with immigrant grandparents and was raised 100% proud of my heritage..yes, they were immigrants who came to this country in the early 1900s and raised a proud family . We were taught to be proud of our Lithuanian roots..Since he can intimidate many, don’t let him intimidate us.

Would he have stated that without our participation in Iraq and Afganistán ?
Sounds Good…..Just wonder who wrote that for him….
